(26) Delta Birding Cruise #4 – November 6

lodi sandhill crane festival delta birding cruise

Cruise leisurely along the waterways of the California Delta through prime Sandhill Crane habitat with a local licensed boat operator and a birder/naturalist. Cranes, swans, geese, and ducks can often be seen overhead, but don’t forget to keep an eye on the banks for the many other birds and mammals that inhabit the Delta. Bring your binoculars and camera! This tour is one of the hottest tickets at the Festival. It is suitable for able-bodied adults and kids, but an adult must accompany their children. Boats have an open canopy; always be prepared for the elements. Toilet facilities are dockside only. We set sail from the dock at Tower Park Marina/Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Camp-Resort. It adjoins the resort restaurant and other amenities. For more information about Tower Park Marina and the campground visit www.towerparkresort.com.

In general, it is not acceptable to bring dogs to the festival or on tours because they may interfere with other participants or disturb wildlife. Service animals must be handled so as not to disturb other people or wildlife. On bus or boat tours, service animals must sit on their owner’s lap because of limited space.

There are many insects, including mosquitoes in the delta, so long sleeve shirts and long pants are recommended. Insect repellent is recommended.
