Suisun Marsh Waterfowl – Their Travels and Migration – November 6

Suisun Marsh Waterfowl - Their Travels and Migration

Location: Hutchins Street Square, Crete Hall

Suisun Marsh has long been recognized for its importance to waterfowl throughout the Pacific Flyway. To learn more about their migration patterns, researchers have deployed solar powered cell-tower GPS transmitters on 13 species of waterfowl since 2014. This technology has revealed that waterfowl from the Marsh have diverse migration patterns, with an extensive breeding range, and new information about their winter habitats. Presented by Waterfowl Biologist Cliff Feldheim with the Department of Water Resources.
