Leucistic Sandhill Crane Sighted In the Delta

This week, a leucistic Sandhill Crane was sighted in the Delta. These Sandhill Cranes are rare and appear to be albinos. That is not the case, because their eyes are not pink. Instead, they appear to be white because of a genetic defect that reduces the pigmentation in their feathers. According to the internet, this condition is a one-in-a-million occurrence.
