TIME: 4:50 – 6:30 p.m.

The Woodbridge Ecological Reserve is one of the few locations where Sandhill Cranes consistently roost in the Delta. At dusk, in large groups that can number from several hundred to several thousand, the cranes converge on the South Unit’s flooded fields for the night. Often this spectacle of flight and vocalization is backdropped by stunning sunsets behind Mt. Diablo. CDFW Docents will give a presentation on the cranes in a private viewing area. The cranes determine end times for evening tours.

Attendance will be limited to those who register below. All adults and youth 16 and older are required to have a Lands Pass, or hunting license, or fishing license. A Lands Pass may be purchased at https://wildlife.ca.gov/licensing/lands-pass.

This Friday night tour may cause customers to arrive back at Hutchins Street Square after the Opening Dinner begins. We will hold you a plate if you are registered for the dinner.
