WORKSHOP FEE: $30.00 per person               Limited to eight participants

Join master carvers from the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association to learn how to carve a Ruddy Turnstone.  All materials for this workshop will be provided.  Suitable for ages 15 and older.  

Master carver Jim Burcio has carved wildfowl for over 50 years, competed nationally, judged at Ward World Competition, and the three major carving shows on the west coast.  For the past 30 years, Jim has annually taught carving seminars for the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association and has been involved in the leadership of the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association since 1983 and was instrumental in guiding the PFDA to the level of 501C3, nonprofit status.

In 2010 his carvings were displayed at the University of California Chico Campus Anthropology Museum, the Sacramento International Airport, and permanently displayed at the Bidwell Park Visitor’s Center in Chico, California.  In 2010, and 2012, he was selected by the Ward Foundation in Salisbury, Maryland to be an instructor in their National Endowment for the Arts Grant.  Jim continues to study wildfowl at the U. C. Davis Vertebrate Zoology Lab.
