Take a light morning hike along the lower Mokelumne River as it spills from Camanche Dam. Birding experts Liz West and Joanne Katanic will share their knowledge about the local landscape and help you scout 35+ species including bluebirds, night herons, several woodpecker species, mergansers, Osprey and other raptors. As an added treat, keep an eye out for spawning salmon as they complete their journey from the Pacific Ocean!
IMPORTANT: This tour takes place on the south side of the Mokelumne River with access from Route 12 on N. Mcintire Road. Mcintire Road is located between the towns of Clements and Walace on Route 12. The address is 25800 N. Mcintire Rd., but be aware that Google Maps may send you to the North side of the river by mistake.
Meet your guides at the entrance to the Mokelumne River Day Use parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Watch for the entrance hut on your left.
Choose an option and select the number of tickets you wish to purchase. No actual tickets will be issued. You will receive an email to confirm your reservation (Check your Spam Folder if you do not receive one) On the day of the tour your guide will have a list of participants and will check you in.
