TOUR #5226 – Beginner Birding Adventure at WER North Shelter
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Whether you’re new to birding or simply curious about the birds of California’s Central Valley, this relaxed observation tour is the perfect introduction. From the comfort of the viewing shelter at the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve North Unit, knowledgeable guides will help you spot and identify a variety of resident and migratory birds while sharing tips on bird identification, behavior, and habitat. With minimal walking and plenty of time for questions and observation, this tour is ideal for beginners, families, and anyone looking to enjoy birds at an easy pace. Binoculars will be available to borrow during the tour.

This tour is fully accessible and requires limited physical effort. This tour requires the ability to stand for at least an hour if no seat is available.
LANDS PASS
All participants age 16 and older are required to carry a current CDFW Lands Pass, or a valid California hunting or fishing license in their own name for this tour. You will be required to show your Lands Pass or license.

- From I-5 North: Exit Turner Road, make a right on Turner Rd and in 200 ft turn left (north) at the stop sign onto Thornton Road. Continue about 1 mile to Woodbridge Road. Turn left (west) onto Woodbridge Road and continue about 1.6 miles. Woodbridge Ecological Reserve- North Unit is on the right. Meet your tour guide on the west end of the parking lot.
- From I-5 South: Exit Peltier Road and turn left, crossing under I-5 to Thornton Road. At the stop sign, turn right (south) onto Thornton Road and continue about 2 miles to Woodbridge Road. Turn right (west) onto Woodbridge Road and continue about 1.6 miles. Woodbridge Ecological Reserve- North Unit is on the right. Meet your tour guide on the west end of the parking lot.
- LOOK FOR SIGNS FOR WOODBRIDGE NORTH. IF YOU GET TO WOODBRIDGE SOUTH, WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD, YOU HAVE GONE ABOUT ONE MILE TOO FAR.
