SPEAKER’S PRESENTATION – California Sandhill Cranes – Who, What Where, When – November 3, 2024

At the end of a very social and leisurely winter, “our” cranes, and those “hanging around” farther down the State, get Itchy feet and antsy wings.  One day they all seem to trill a last goodbye and overnight they are gone!  Learn more about the California version of a great migration and the habitats that support this awesome, and very reliable, natural phenomenon.

Presenter:  Mamie Starr, Lead Sandhill Crane Docent, California Department of Fish and Wildlife and LSCA Board member.

Mamie Starr, has been a California Department of Fish and Wildlife Crane Preserve docent for the past 20+ years and a board member of the Lodi Sandhill Crane Association.
