Sandhill Cranes Throughout the US – November 2, 2024

Sandhill Cranes migrate through a number of states as they fly to and from their summer nesting sites in Alaska and Canada to warmer states and Mexico for the winter months. No place gets more Sandhill Cranes than the Platte River outside of Kearney, Nebraska, where over 500,000 Sandhill Cranes and several hundred Whooping Cranes spend up to 6 weeks. Learn about cranes, their behaviors while on the Platte, and the important work of the Audubon Society’s Rowe Sanctuary and other organizations to protect this critical habitat and how you can volunteer.

Presenter: Jane H. Adams, Sandhill Crane Docent, CA Department of Fish and Wildlife and Volunteer, Rowe Sanctuary, Nebraska

THIS IS A FREE PRESENTATION

Seating will be first come first serve.

Jane H. Adams, a California Department of Fish and Wildlife Crane Preserve docent for the past 19 years and an Audubon Society volunteer at Rowe Sanctuary on the Platte River in Nebraska each spring.
