PAID WORKSHOP – Beginners Bird Carving Workshop – November 3, 2024

Upstairs Art Classroom, Hutchins Street Square, Lodi

Join master carvers from the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association to learn how to carve a sanderling in a feeding pose.  All materials for this workshop will be provided.  Suitable for ages 15 and older. 

Master carver Jim Burcio has carved wildfowl for 50 years, competed nationally, judged at Ward World Competition, and the three major carving shows on the west coast.  For the past 30 years, Jim has annually taught carving seminars for the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association and has been involved in the leadership of the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association since 1983 and was instrumental in guiding the PFDA to the level of 501C3, nonprofit status.

In 2010 his carvings were displayed at the University of California Chico Campus Anthropology Museum, the Sacramento International Airport, and permanently displayed at the Bidwell Park Visitor’s Center in Chico, California.  In 2010, and 2012, he was selected by the Ward Foundation in Salisbury, Maryland to be an instructor in their National Endowment for the Arts Grant.  Jim continues to study wildfowl at the U. C. Davis, and U. C. Berkeley Vertebrate Zoology laboratories.

LATE REGISTRATION: Customers who register online after October 26 must present a hard copy or phone displaythe email receipt to their presenter at the time of the workshop.

REGISTRATION AT THE FESTIVAL: Unsold tickets will be available during the festival and can be purchased on this website.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Cancellation Policy: Full refunds (minus a 3% processing fee) are available prior to the workshop upon the customer’s request at info@lodisandhillcrane.org. A full refund is automatically issued for any events cancelled by the festival organizers.
