TOUR #1924- Kayak the Mokelumne River and Lodi Lake – November 2, 2024

DESCRIPTION: Join Lodi Boathouse staff for an enjoyable paddle along the Mokelumne River. The tour will be guided by an experienced boathouse staff member. This is a great way to enjoy a day on the water while you learn about the flora and fauna found along the Mokelumne River.

PLEASE ARRIVE AT 1:30 P.M. TO BEGIN LOADING. 

THE TOUR BEGINS AT 2:00 p.m.

TOUR ENDS AT 5:00 p.m.

The tour begins and ends at the Boathouse on Lodi Lake.

NOTE: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS ON SATURDAY 

DIRECTIONS TO THE TOUR: Drive west on Oak Street (North side of Hutchins Street Square) to Ham Lane and turn right. Proceed to Turner Road and turn left. Then drive a block to Lodi Lake. The entrance to Lodi Lake will be on your right at 1101 West Turner Road. The Boathouse will be to your left.

LANDS PASS : No Lands Pass is required for this tour

WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET YOUR GUIDE: Meet your guide at the Boathouse at 1101 West Turner Road by 1:30. Loading will begin then and the tour starts at 2:00 p.m.

QUESTIONS REGARDING REGISTRATION: Visit The Boathouse  to sign up for a tour. The Lodi Sandhill Crane Association provides advertising and support for this tour but customers may not sign up for the tour on our website.

Participants should arrive at 1:30 for check in and loading. The tour will depart at 2:00 p.m.

After loading, the tour will depart at 2:00 p.m.

The tour will end at the Lodi Lake Boat Shed at about 5:00 p.m.

It will take about 20 minutes to dock and unload the kayaks after the tour.

It is best to dress in layers.  Water proof clothing may be of use. The river can be very cool in the morning and evening, but quite warm in the afternoon. 

There is no food or water available on this tour, so participants are encouraged to bring a snack and a bottle of water if they like.

No, this tour does not require a Lands Pass.

Binoculars and a spotting scope may be brought on this tour if they can be used from a kayak.

You should definitely bring your camera if it can be water proofed.

Yes, handicap accessible restrooms or port-a-potty is available at the tour site. Nevertheless, everyone should use the restroom before the tour begins.

This tour requires the ability to access a kayak from a dock and the ability to paddle for several hours.

There may be handicap parking available near the boat shed.

This is not a wheelchair accessible tour.

In general, it is not acceptable to bring dogs to the festival or on tours because they may interfere with other participants or disturb wildlife. Service animals must be handled so as not to disturb other people or wildlife. On bus or boat tours, service animals must sit on their owner’s lap because of limited space.

There are many insects, including mosquitos near the water, so long sleeve shirts and long pants are recommended. Insect repellent is recommended.
