Learn origami crane folding from our volunteer “experts”. This activity is FREE … and everyone is welcomed to give it a try. Stop by to learn more about the cultural significance of origami cranes and the history of this unique Japanese art form. Join our effort to make 1000 cranes.
In cultures throughout the world, cranes symbolize honor, good fortune, loyalty and longevity. The crane has also become a symbol of peace, hope, and healing during challenging times. These characteristics have given the crane special meaning for many people and is associated with the Japanese belief that those with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 origami cranes will be granted a wish.
