TOUR #3223- Bird Walk on the Lodi Lake Nature Trail #2 – November 5, 2023

This tour is for all skill levels. Bring your binoculars and enjoy a leisurely walk on flat ground through the old growth riparian habitat on the Lodi Lake Nature Trail  with a local birding expert. Learn the basics or hone your skills in identifying the many birds that reside in or frequent this outstanding area, which is also home to other species, including deer, beaver, fox, possums, and turtles. This gem of a habitat is minutes away from the Festival. Park on the street or pay a small fee for parking onsite.

TOUR TIME: 7:10 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.

NOTE: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS SATURDAY NIGHT

DIRECTIONS; Meet your guides at 1026 Laurel at 7:10 a.m. Laurel Street is one block east of the Lodi Lake Park entrance on Turner Road.  Park on the street or pay $5.00 for parking onsite at Lodi Lake.

Tour guides will receive a list of customers who have registered by October 28, 2023.

Customers who register online for a tour after that date must show the guide a hard copy or phone display of the email receipt. The receipt may go to your spam folder.

Unsold tickets will be available during the festival and can be purchased on this website.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Meet your guides at 1026 Laurel (The first street east of the entrance to Lodi Lake.) There is a fee for parking in the parking lot or you may park for free on the street.

 

QUESTIONS REGARDING REGISTRATION: Contact the Registration Coordinator at tours@lodisandhillcrane.org or leave a message at (800) 581-6150. Notify the Registration Coordinator in advance if special accommodations are needed. Expect a response from the Coordinator within the week.

Cancellation Policy: Full refunds (minus a 3% processing fee) are available prior to a tour upon the customer’s request at tours@lodisandhillcrane.org. A full refund is automatically issued for any events cancelled by the festival organizers.

It is best to dress in layers.  The delta can be very cool in the morning and evening, but quite warm in the afternoon.

There is no food or water available on this tour, so participants are encouraged to bring a snack and a bottle of water if they like.

No, this tour does not require a Lands Pass.

Binoculars and a spotting scope may be brought on this tour.  The nature area is fairly thick with trees, so a spotting scope may be of little use.

You should definitely bring your camera.

Yes, handicap accessible restrooms or port-a-potty is available at the tour site. Nevertheless, everyone should use the restroom before the tour begins.

This tour requires the ability to walk a mile or two over generally level and even terrain.

This tour requires the ability to stand for at least an hour.

Yes, there is handicap parking available at the park.

This tour site has hard surfaces with some unevenness and or slight inclines. It is wheelchair accessible to most viewing areas.

In general, it is not acceptable to bring dogs to the festival or on tours because they may interfere with other participants or disturb wildlife. Service animals must be handled so as not to disturb other people or wildlife. 

There are many insects, including mosquitos near the water, so long sleeve shirts and long pants are recommended. Insect repellent is recommended.
