TIME: 5:05 – 6:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION: The Woodbridge Ecological Reserve is one of the few locations where Sandhill Cranes consistently roost in the Delta. At dusk, in large groups that can number from several hundred to several thousand, the cranes converge on the South Unit’s flooded fields for the night. Often this spectacle of flight and vocalization is backdropped by stunning sunsets behind Mt. Diablo. CDFW Docents will give a presentation on the cranes in a private viewing area. The cranes determine end times for evening tours.

LANDS PASS: Attendance will be limited to those who register below. All adults and youth 16 and older are required to have a Lands Pass, or hunting license, or fishing license. A Lands Pass may be purchased at https://wildlife.ca.gov/licensing/lands-pass.

TRANSPORTATION: You will drive your won vehicle.

CHECK-IN: Meet your guides at 4:50 p.m. at Woodbridge Ecological Reserve South at the west end of the parking lot, near the viewing mound. 

NOTE: Friday night tour may cause customers to arrive back at Hutchins Street Square after the Opening reception begins. We will hold refreshments for you if you are registered for the event.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE: Choose an option and select the number of reservations you wish to purchase. No actual tickets will be issued. You will receive an email to confirm your reservation (Check your Spam Folder if you do not receive one) On the day of the tour your guide will have a list of participants and will check you in. 

WAITING LIST PROCEDURES: If you try to register for a tour that is full, you may be given the option to get on a waiting list. The waiting list is limited to the first few customers who attempt to register. If space becomes available these customers will be notified by email that they have 48 hours to register for the tour. After 48 hours, the space(s) will be open for registration on a first come-first serve basis. This system is fully automated. Our volunteer staff will not be able to let you know if you are on the waiting list.

LATE REGISTRATION: If you register for a tour after the deadline, please bring a copy of your confirmation email to show your guide or show confirmation on your cell phone.
